After a leisurely lunch and morning in Marrakech we transfer by minibus to Imlil, a trip of only just under 2 hours and that takes us from the plains around Marrakech to the center of the High Atlas range. In the evening we have a brief hike to our mountain gite in Aroumd in which there’s a number of spare time to enjoy the region. Hotel Aremd or perhaps similar

Leaving the fields plus walnut trees of Arroumd behind, we stick to the Mizane valley on the tiny shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, an area of pilgrimage for a lot of Moroccans. There’s some time to see the tomb of the neighborhood marabout (holy male) albeit from the distance as non Muslims aren’t permitted to cross the footbridge. After stopping for the soft drink or maybe mint tea, we continue the climb up to the refuge of ours at an altitude of 3209m. The afternoon is applied to perform with the crampons and also ice axe. Really wonderful trip. Each of the other individuals in the team were lovely. Scenery plus food fantasic. Mountain accomodation simple but much more than adequate. Toilets might be better though.
