The entry requirements

Have a relevant professional or academic qualification at least the equivalent of that of their students and, ideally, a minimum Level 3 qualification in their particular specialization.

Centers must make sure that the students are selected according to aptitude to the course, and proving that they satisfy the following minimum requirements:

Don’t have a criminal record that may hinder their ability to work as a teacher for children or adults who are vulnerable.
The Centre must show evidence that the staff who provide the qualification are at a minimum
A qualification in teaching equivalent to the level 5 or above;
Experience in teaching in the context of education or training;
Access to the appropriate assistance and guidance; and
Continuous participation in related programme quality assurance procedures.
Equivalences
It is the Level five Diploma in Education and Training qualification is comparable with that of the Certificate of Education (CertEd). It’s also a great option to replace that Postgraduate Certificate in Education. This Diploma at Level 5 for Education and Learning can allow students to be eligible for QTLS status and become an accredited teacher. Teachers who have QTLS are also able to instruct in school.
Structure of qualification
This Level five Diploma in Education and Training qualification comprises of 4 compulsory units, plus eight optional units and 1200 hours TQT (TQT) along with the required Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification is at least 360. The maximum number of hours of guided learning is determined by optional units chosen.
To earn Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training Learners need to earn at least 120 credits. 75 credits must be earned from the compulsory units of Group A. They must also earn at least 45 credits from the elective units of Group B.
Minimum of 61 credits is required to be obtained at the level 5 (therefore the minimum requirement of 6 credits may be earned at the Level 5)

Delivery and duration
The course is designed to be completed over one academic year, allowing for full-time studies however, it is flexible in its course of study to allow for students who are part-time or studying at a distance.
The course is taught face-to-face by way of seminars, tutorials, lectures or distance learning. Online courses are offered by certified centers only.
Evaluation and verification
Each unit in this qualification are assessed internally by the centre, and externally confirmed. The qualifications are criterion-referenced and based on the attainment of all of the learning outcomes.
To be able to achieve a “pass” in a particular unit, learners need to prove that they have achieved all learning outcomes and have met the requirements set by all assessment criteria. A decision on whether the learners successfully met the evaluation criteria is taken by an Assessor.
It will be evaluated using a combination of tasks as well as an evidence portfolio as well as observation of teaching training. The practice of simulation is not allowed for this certification.
