What was the process of bringing you to Romania? Was it difficult to gain access to market Romanian market?
I was extremely excited about my visit to Romania in the first place because it’s an interesting market, that is growing and also because it’s an extremely important market for us, the Moldovan people. Moldovans prefer to be in contact with Romania and feel as if returning home from many hours of travel, we are connected to Romania in numerous ways, but perhaps the most important is in terms of tradition and cultural aspects. More and more knowledgeable connoisseurs of high-end wines from Romania People who have a good understanding of the most prestigious international labels and are looking for fresh flavors, unique blends and combinations, with terroirs that are full of character like those of Moldovan wine.
In response to your question, at first it was easy for me to break in the marketplace. As I expanded sales activities as well as the actual implementation of the plan itself it became apparent that it wasn’t that easy, and I ran into lots of issues. However, I’m not who is easy to intimidate and, when I make a decision to take action I complete it. There aren’t any markets that are easy to approach Each one is distinct.
It is seen as a world for males. For instance In Romania only 5percent of the wine industry is attributed to women. What do you think of the world?
I’ve never felt overwhelmed by the male-dominated world. I think that the skills of women and flexibility, as well as the more profound way we look at things, could be steady advantages. We mostly work with men on the staff at Gitana Winery (the winemaker, the viticulturist, the oenologist) and the proprietor at the vineyard is male. I’m very comfortable working with the men. I don’t believe that things are split as such: worlds for women and the world of men, careers for women and those for males. It is my belief that all depends on equilibrium. The family business wouldn’t have been able to be what it is today without my father’s determination and determination and we would not have been able to stand up without my mother’s determination and ability to hold us together The business couldn’t be as successful without the new ideas and imagination of both my sisters and me.
What inspired you to choose this name “Gitana Winery”?
The village name that the winery is located can be described as Tiganca (Gipsy Woman – e.n. ) The winery was referred to as the same name – Vinaria Tiganca (Tiganca Winery – e.n.). We believe that the traditions are important, we’ve chosen to use the uniqueness and expertise that comes from the Argentinian designer who studied the history of the winery as well as the advantages that an international brand could provide an original brand image that could be understood by everyone regardless of their country of the source. So we made a change: Vinaria Tigancabecame Gitana Winery. We redesigned the brand to make it export-friendly and international competition, but without losing our distinctiveness and its origin.
What is the role that you would like to fill in the universe of wine?
I’m not imagining having the best wines, or to increase production. The quality of our wine is affirmed by the people who seek us out and who are interested in our wines and can’t wait for us to put our next wine in the market. Additionally, I’m not planning of reaching 10 million bottles because we’d lose control of the traditional and high-quality technologies we utilize. Also, the good quality we offer our wines is determined specifically by the local characteristics of the terroir which God has blessed us in this region, which is situated on the hills of Moldova, which are protected with the Prut meadow, and under the pressure from the Black Sea. After we have restored the winery, I would wish to obtain the funds needed to expand the tourism area to the agricultural. I would like to be a part of the sector and have the winery filled with people who want to learn about the traditions and the wine we produce using the traditional method.
What markets are the Gitana brand represented?
We are currently selling Gitana wine through the Moldovan market, which is located in Romania We are also beginning to expand our sales in Poland. We are somewhat present throughout Europe and particularly the regions of Switzerland and Italy and also within both the USA as well as Japan.
Where do those who want to get to know you better, or know more about the Gitana wines, locate you?

Every Gitana wine tells the story of its own. What is the story behind the wine Autograf which was that was released in the year?
It’s true that we have a common goal in our family Everyone has an opinion of their own. Sometimes we aren’t able to like each other and other times we can find the solution quickly. We thought of creating an entire series that represents the persona of each. Every family member has contributed to the wine that he has signed which is the thing that makes him feel the most. When we were working on the labels and promote texts, and we were required to sign our names when we looked over the labels, we noticed that none of us wrote about ourselves as individuals instead of the force and family that we share. So, even though “Autograf” was supposed to be the name of a four-wine series each with its own writer, at the end, it’s an entire family collection, in which we see the wine as a binder one thing that connects us all and tells the history of our family as well as love for wine.
Are you anxious at events in which you will be presenting your winery and wines? What do you feel like when people ask specific questions about your wines?
I talk very naturally about our wines. I don’t plan anything beforehand, as they are a part of me. I am aware of each step and component that formed part of their development. I’m not one to talk about the wines of others and not because I do not like their wines, but because for my taste, wines are that is very personal to me. I’m happy when people see me at events and say that the wine was a nice surprise. I’m always sending these thoughts to my family at home as I am constantly surrounded the opinions of others, however my parents are extremely busy as they are employed at the winery and need to feast on the joy of people who are awed by the wine they are producing by hand.
What does a family dinner take shape when you gather with your family at home in your home in the Republic of Moldova?
In terms of traditions In terms of tradition, our family has more Bulgarian influence more than Moldovan and Russian ones. In the first place, the structure of our family is more matriarchal. A woman plays a significant role within our household. I think that having meals together is the thing that brings us closer, since it is the norm in all families We have meals together, which in turn is a social event. In this setting, we share the things we’ve accomplished in the past, what our plans are as well as the issues we’ve faced, and we offer advice to one another. The morning gathering, usually at the coffee table, turns into real strategic gatherings. We have harmony in our family. We talk frequently, however, we are respectful of each other’s boundaries and preferences.
