It was 1917 when Reese discovered an advert for a job on a dairy farm run by Milton S. Hershey, owner of the Hershey Chocolate Company located in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

While he wasn’t aware when he started, his decision to accept this job would influence Reese’s life for the next few years. He was on the farm for a few years before he began working at the chocolate factory of the company in which he was inspired by Hershey and decided to create the chocolates he wanted to make himself.

At first, Reese considered his chocolate venture as a method to earn a bit of cash in order to support his household. He began making chocolates from his kitchen, and named candy and bars after his numerous children. He utilized fresh ingredients in his candy creations, with lots Chocolate from Hershey’s.
